We just flat out got dumped on, and more on the way... Probaly 12-13 feet in the last 48 hours... Not bad for California... :D

Wish I had a digital camera so I could post the pics...

In case your wondering where in California I live, check out the website... link.... Follow the ski tracks down to the cabins, thats home... And no, I had nothing to do with the website design...

I live close enough to Big Bear Lake, but since I've hurt my head/neck, no point to go there for a while to enjoy fresh snow.

No typo, 12-13 feet, and its powder... :) .... The only bad thing is we had a big storm come through about 5 weeks ago and dumped about 5-7 feet, then we got alot of sun... everything got icy, and now this on top of it....Right now the avalanche danger is pretty extreme, so I am not going anywhere, even if I could.... When this storm first rolled in, it was fairly warm, hopefully enough to soften the ice enough for this snow to bond well, and minimize the avalanche danger.

The elevation here is just under 10,000 feet, on the east side of the sierra's... We are just two miles from the east entrance to Yosemite...

Awesome. :) I want to live that high up sometime...

What kind of car do you drive? Or do they drive cars up there? Snowmobiles year round? lol..

I bet you can collect some awesome natural bonsai at that elevation. :)

Heh, I have a 2001 Ford Ranger 4x4 and a 88 Toyota 4x4, but they are parked about 6-7 miles down the road and about 2,500 feet lower in elevation....

But currently, our main mode of transportation is either a Pisten Bully 330 (similar to whats pictured here, a couple of Polaris snowmobiles, snowshoes or skis.... The road is closed from the first heavy snowfall until usually memorial day weekend.... :) nice and quiet here...

There's never any snow here in San Diego but my family just bought a small cabin in Big Bear and there is supposed to be snow there now.

The one big bummer about this winter season is my Girlfriend is back in Germany for about 5 months... :(

Guess I will have to settle for the dog if it gets tooooooo cold....
