I just got rejected for the $10.00 rebate that printed out with my receipt at Best Buy. The reason for rejection was 'purchase was made outside of the qualifying period.' I have copies showing that I purchased the item on the last date of the rebate..
Damn.. I hate how rebate companies just reject a certain percentage of them hoping that people don't keep records. Now I have to blow another 37-cent stamp and waste some more of my time sending proof that my original rebate request was valid.
There's something I think we Anandtechers (in our numbers) can do to hold companies that abuse rebates (Best Buy) accountable. I'm gonna try and plan something for Black Friday. I'll post details later when I have a plan going. But, I'm pretty sure I have a way to prove that companies reject valid rebates in order to increase profits illegally that will hold up in a court of law.
