....but I'm already finished two thirds of it, and I must say this is a GREAT game. Great graphics, great weapons, many environments and enemies, and very good in game sequences explaining your objectives. It's somewhat similar to Doom 3, which was a great game in itself with some shortcomings, but it fixes a lot of the problems of Doom 3 like being too dark and too repetitive, and also avoids the annoying flashlight/weapon switching and the monsters materializnig behind you. It lacks some of the atmosphere of Doom 3, but that's not all that bad because Doom 3 put off a some people by being too scary. The graphics are generally more impressive than in Doom 3 because you can see it more clearly. The action is very linear and you're always told what to do next. It also reminds me very much of elite forces 2, which was another good game by raven software, but it doesn't match their marvelous jedi outcast, which combined enormous open ended levels with intricate puzzles, great light sable fights and good firefight action.
For some people this would be much better than Doom 3 because it changes a lot of things that they hated about doom 3 (too scary, dark and confined), but for people that liked doom 3 it's probably only a little better overall (less atmosphere but better gameplay).
just my $0.02
