I was in my buddy's car way long time back who was basically driving the way you do in your video. He got speeding, wreckless driving and some other charge on his ticket. You got off easy... not sure why you need to drive like that?

Is passing / overtaking on the right not illegal in all states?

This would be news to me? I'm from Texas, we don't have stupid shit like that as far as I know.

Instead, we just have stupid fucks that block the left lane from passing instead :awe:

Can't see the speedo in the video, so I don't see how it can help you. All it shows is that you were the fastest car on the road by a large margin, and weaving in and out of traffic. If you do have to go to court, I'd leave the video at home...

Yeah I posted the whole video to show that in fact it wasn't unwarranted pull over. Never said whether I deserve a ticket or not. Just wondering what happens.

I have a problem once I gain some momentum I agree. I'll drive slower since that is a legit criticism.

If you didn't get a ticket on site, I wouldn't expect to get one. Also ramp speeds are generally recommended, and not a "hard" limit. Of course, all he has to say is he thinks you weren't at a safe speed, so I dunno how that'll play out in court.

This.

Holiday weekends are a good time to behave yourself while driving because cops are out in full force.

If he didn't pull you over right away he may have called your plates in to see if your vehicle was stolen, etc.

If you get a ticket, read it carefully, then decide on paying vs disputing. Depending on the court location the cop who saw you speeding might never show up, or the ticket may have technical flaws.

Honestly the biggest piece missing for most people here is the context of the road. That section of 309 is a bit funky because you get a lot of people who drive under the limit 5-8 miles and a lot of people who drive over the limit 5-10 mph. I drive that road every single day for work and you can pass cops in a number of places on both sides of the road and it's not unusual for cops to let people drive by up to about 55.

There's no way he will get a ticket if he didn't get one there in person and I'd venture a guess to say he was driving fine assuming he wasn't over 53/55 or so. Both the local PD and State troopers tend to let it go.

LOL - you are a very aggressive driver, you are driving quite a bit over the speed limit for a good portion of the video, and you deserve a ticket but won't get one for this incident.

Use it as a learning experience and slow down.

Blocking the left lane seems to be a given these days. People do it all the effing time here in central Ohio. Drivers here are either aggressive and stupid or passive-aggressive and stupid. People who camp in the left lane and go under the speed limit (unless they're about to make a turn) should be flown to Germany and be forced to drive on the autobahns for a month. Getting run off the road a few times might teach them the purpose of the left lane.

I doubt you will ever hear a thing about it.
On your driving: I will not flame you for the tendency to be first at every light, but you were. It is your habit. The only time a car pulled away from you the cop was in your mirror and the blue car pulled away on the right.
Cruise control can be your friend. It may not always work out, but the more you use it the less likely you will get a ticket, waste fuel, etc.

I doubt you will get anything in the mail.
If so, go to court and I doubt they have any evidence and it will be dropped. (sucks to take off work though)

Subaru.. it was silver I think.

In court this will probably not fly. Also how will local police issue a ticket they did not witness? Hearsay is not admissible as evidence.

Yea, you were driving aggressively and there is a marked change in your speed and driving behavior before and after you noticed the unmarked police car.

That said, the ramp speed limit sign was ahead of you when you came to a stop. Technically, the speed limit in that section was still 55 mph. That cop is full of bologna. He saw that you were driving like an asshole, and really wanted to pull you over for something.

(This is coming from a guy with zero moving violations and a tendency to drive fast.)

Pretty much this. I watched that whole video and you were weaving left and right to get around people, CLEARLY going faster than the speed limit since you passed about a dozen cars, and were tailgating the guy at the beginning. Ever hear of the 4 second rule? Yeah my wife does that shit too and I rage on her for it.

You are the definition of an asshole driver. Not sure why people think that getting to the grocery store or getting to their home somehow merits them speeding and putting others in danger.
Take this criticism seriously, OP. He's often a troll, but this time, he mostly speaks the truth. If you have to weave in and out of traffic, you're the one driving recklessly, not the others on the road.

The driving does not seem that bad, a bit on the aggressive side but that's pretty much normal driving in my city. Were you signalling your lane changes at least? People here don't even bother to signal when they drive like that. They see a car that's going slightly slower and just weave around it with no signalling or anything. I've even seen people pass on shoulders because someone turning left. 😱

I guess I'm just used to seeing asshole driving so yours does not seem as bad to me.

Not an aggressive driver, but you pass on the right, and it requires you to speed in order to pass?? Sorry, that's aggressive driving.

+1, defiantly speeding, moderate tailgating, passing on the right. By far you not in the "douche" category by any means but you do need to tame it down a bit, specially passing on the right, your just asking for someone to change lanes without looking (or expecting) a passing car present and get involved in an accident. Don't forget all cars have "event data recorders" built on to them now and that information can be subpeona'd by the PD if they don't believe your story.
