Got pulled over in Delaware....please explain something

I'm a 16 year old (17 in about 24mins) and I live in Pennsylvania. On the way to Maryland today, I was pulled over in Delaware for speeding. I was going pretty fast but the cop made it a 64mph in a 55mph zone

He explained that I must go to a hearing type thing since I'm not 18 years old and he assigned me a date and time IN DELAWARE.

1.) Is there anyway that I can get out having to go to Delaware?
2.) Will my licesnse be affected for speeding out of state?
3.) How many points/how big a fine is this?

I dont know about the first two. But when I got a ticked going down rt 1. I was going like 75 in a 55 it was a $80 ticket. I dont think they will take your license away.

I've just been reading what I can about Pennsylvania junior license (which I assume you have) law...and I have yet to read anything about being out-of-state counting against you. However, I don't think you can move the hearing out of Delaware because you committed the offense in Delaware. According to the bottom of this page, speeding in Delaware won't get you points if it's the first time you've been caught speeding in 3 years. So you should be OK on points. If you don't get any points from Delaware the state, your insurance will not give you any points. I think out of state points don't count against your insurance anyway, but I'm not really sure about that.
Good luck, I had a 6 point ticket reduced today ( to 1 point) so I'm in the mood to help out. I'm in NYS though so I can't really help.

1. no
2. yes
3. blah.

you were SPEEDING. you may DISAGREE with this but at least understand there are circumstances
Excellent set of answers pulled directly from ass.

Call the number on the ticket, or look up the traffic court information in the phone book. Call them and ask.
The people on this forum know next to nothing and you probably shouldn't ask them about matters dealing with legal proceedings.

1.) No, but if the date is inconvinient you can get it changed.
2.) Yes. Not sure how much it'll affect you though, I got caught at 68 in a 55 in PA and I have a UT license. My insurance only went up $10, but then again I'm 22.

If the ticket was issued in Delaware, how is he going to get the venue changed to another state?

Call the courthouse, plead guilty, and ask for traffic school. If you do traffic school, the point won't show up on your record. That's what I'm doing since I was ticketed about 4 hours away from where I live..

Geeez people, the guy asked you for advice and instead you're bickering with each other

Anyhow, since it's your first traffic offence you will most likely have an option of going to a traffic school which will forfeit any points against you, so your insurance won't find out. Just stay out of trouble for three years (actually always stay out of trouble 🙂) There's no way you can get out, but don't sweat it, just be cool, tell the judge that you're sorry and you wish to go to traffic school. Last but not least, be safe.

no one was bickering for like 6 posts and you had to bring it up again.
