A friend of mine from Singapore got pit passes to the Indy 500 and Montreal GP from her cousin, who is an F3 racer. The Indy tix are already spoken for, but she can give me 2 tix to the Montreal GP. I've always wanted to go to Montreal too, but everytime I make plans to go they get thwarted.

What's GP racing like? How good is the Montreal circuit? What are the fans like? I'm very inexperienced when it comes to auto racing...I've been to the Carquest 400 (NASCAR) and that's about it.

You like car racing? If so GP will be great!

Real racing, none of this Nascrap, attracts a wealthy crowd and having Pit passes will be a blast.

Do it!

Pitt passes rock. I've only ever gotten to be in the pits during a day-before-the-race shakedown back when CART was racing at MIS. Was really cool, and I got Michael Andretti's autograph.

Real racing? lol. MS and Ferrari basically ran the competition over this season. What racing?

Arrgh, I understood pit passes to be an all-inclusive pass to the race, but apparently its a pass to the pits only!!! So I won't be able to watch the race, unless I buy my own ticket...

A guy I work with goes every year. He says it is one of the best places to see a GP race. Canadians are very enthusiastic about F1 racing and Montreal is a great city. Pit passes? Man, I'm jealous. I want to go!

I've found that it's one of the WORST places to watch a GP race. Unlike Indy, you can't sit in another section for the practice or qualifying sessions on Friday or Saturday. Unless you have a ticket for that specific section they won't let you. So, while we had great seats on the start/finish line directly across from the Ferrari garages, we were stuck there all weekend. Seeing only part of the front stretch and the slight bend going into turn one got old after a while. While Indy isn't half the GP circuit Montreal is, it was a lot easier to get around. And the cops in Montreal are fvcking pricks we found.

Also, expect to walk. I mean walk a lot. It's a long hike from the Metro station all the way over to the front straight which is on the opposite side of the island. And use the Metro to get to and from the track. Don't attempt to park at the track - unless your pit pass gets you parking at the Casino.

The city is fun, St. Catherine street isn't what it used to be - just basically a big mob scene from end to end. But lots of things to see and places to eat - has a very european feel to it. I would like to go back up and see the city on a non-GP weekend so I can take my time.

I wouldn't go back for a GP though.
