A ticket for over 3 mph? I find it hard to believe, even in MA. Where in Boston was this? Which court are you going? Do you know any of our politicians? Do you have a clean driving record outside of this?
I received a BS ticket last year. Thankfully, I'm friends with one of our state senators and he had the officer not report to the hearing and I got off.
You'll meet with a court magistrate. If the officer is not present, someone from his precinct will present to give the officer's report. Your best bet is to be cordial and plead for leniency. Tell him it will never happen again and you have an excellent driving record to prove it(if you do).
