Got package from Buy.com but it was in an Amazon.com box

A friend sent me a present (wireless router) ordered from Buy.com. It arrived in an Amazon.com box (Amazon's name and their distinctive "arrow" graphic is printed directly on the cardboard), but the shipping label was from Buy.com.

It was shipped from Carol Stream, IL, which, if I recall correctly, is where Buy.com usually ships their stuff from.

What's up with this? I'm just curious.

I have a funny one as well. The company I work for got a box shipped from UPS in a Fedex box that was turned inside-out. Don't ask me how that happened.

That was done on purpose. You're not supposed to use one carrier's box when shipping with a different carrier.

I received a package last week from Newegg that was delivered by FedEx with FedEx's delivery info printed on a UPS label.

Every FedEx shipment I've received from NewEgg in at least a year had it's label printed that way

I've had a package before be picked up by UPS, only for them to go drive to the USPS and drop it off, for the USPS to deliver to me. Have no idea why they did that

Was this that hard to figure out? (Directed to SViper)

Has anyone bothered to think that maybe Buy.com used Amazon.com to drop ship you an item they were out of stock on to provide you with the best customer service?

That was my first thought, but I think Buy.com usually ships from Carol Stream, IL. I don't think I've ever gotten anything from Amazon from Carol Stream.

Yeah, I think I've had the same thing happen to me. They picked it up from the warehouse via UPS, then dropped it off at a USPS location closer to me. The USPS then dropped it off at my house. It's part of some deal between the two companies.
