Got new rims ... BBS!

Came across a craigslist deal that I couldn't pass up - 16" original BBS rims for $175 with virtually new front tires. As soon as I polish the lips and repaint the centers, they'll be going on my 944 🙂

EDIT:
I've got the rims half refinished - going with a chrome lip and bronze center, here's some iphone pics

the color should be something like these

Nice. Lightweight forged aluminum, good choice. I've actually always liked the look of the "phone dial" wheels, but I think I'm in the minority on that one.

I would be a part of that minority as well

I had some sweet BBS's on my I30t 1996 came from the factory 🙂
It was pretty ironic because I always told my dad he should buy some BBS RS-GT or LM rims for that car.. one snowy day we had to change a flat.... and I noticed it said BBS underneath the custom cap

Excellent. choice I LOVE BBS RIMS 😎

As for my personal taste, I think I will not get much opposition to tell you guys that BBS Rims look fantastic on the good ole E21

I actually phone dials also, but they're virtually impossible to find in 16" and early offset.

Very good point. And the Fuchs for the early 944 are just ridiculously expensive (and, IMO, rather ugly).

Nooo, genuine Fuchs look amazing on a 944. Here's what I want my car to ultimately look like: Gorgeous Fuchs

Unfortunately, my 944 needs a paint job and front end skew fix first. 🙁

Congrats on the find!

It's not actually bent, but the lip is pretty effed up on it. I'm gonna have to hammer it back into place

Congrats on the find!

My fault, for some reason I was thinking of the "cookie cutter" style instead of the more traditional Fuchs.

Here's my car. Unfortunately, I *do* have the cookie cutter rims mentioned above. They're okay, but nothing compared to the car I posted above. The cost is quite high though.

Wanna see pics of the original poster's car! Show! Show!

here's when I got it

another

slipped tbelt

damaged head etc

Motor rebuilt

turbo bumper conversion

new black doors to fix the gashes

Shitty MI weather is making it really difficult to do any progress on the car. I finally managed to get the original seats out of it the other day will be fitting aftermarket ones this week.

As for the exterior, new paint (hecker spies rallye matte black) is gonna be the last step in the spring. Still need to install the coil overs, strut tower, wire in the doors, put the interior back together etc. etc.
