got new mobo. won't recognize my drive

i've got a new asus a7n8x-e deluxe mobo and i have everything hooked up correctly but when i turn on the comp, none of my drives are recognized and when I hit tab to get it to post it freezes and won't allow me to access bios.

one hd is a seagate 120gb SATA the other is an older WD 40gb ATA. neither are recognized.
