Got new glasses

pontifex

Lifer
My new glasses came in today so I picked them up. Everything looks clearer, sharper, and even brighter.

They have the transistions lenses but I don't think they have anti-reflective/glare. My bathroom has a mirror with 2 lights on either side of the mirror. when i look into the mirror, i see sort of small halos or rings across the lenses. doesn't happen with my old glasses.

if i look at lights, i get them too. it happened when I first sat down at my pc and was using it but that seems to have gone away.

I drove home with them on and didn't seem to notice any problems though.

does this mean i have no anti-reflective/glare lenses or am i just still egtting used to them?

my old lenses were more ovalish in shape and these are rectangular. it seems to add a bit more to my peripheral vision, but when i look at things, they sometimes seem distorted. the guy at the eye care center said thats normal because of the shape of the lenses.

i may have to call them back tomorrow and ask, because i'm a bit concerned about all this.

I get those halos with my glasses and they have anti-reflective stuff on them.

I get them with contacts moreso

This always happens to me when I get new lenses. Maybe they have some sort of polish on them when new? I don't know if I just get used to it, but it goes away after a few days for me.

sorry to thread crap...working from home on a friday and have to work tomorrow too...kind of bummed out😛

at least for me the anti-glare ones always absorb all but some color (green?) so you can tell pretty quickly if they have the coating.

If you didn't pay extra for it, you probably don't have it. They were trying to sell me on it but it was like a $40-80 upgrade (it may have been even more, I can't remember). I remember the lady showing me her glasses with it and the reflections of the office lights in the glasses were blueish instead of yellowish-white.

So if they look like that, chances are you've got it.

hold up your glasses by the light and if you see a purplish reflection/glare on the lenses, it has anti-reflective protection. Or at least my does that.

i don't notice anything like that but when i went in to order them, they asked me questions about what i do and i said i use the computer a lot. they said i should have the anti-glare then.

I don't see it listed on the receipt thing they gave me, but i don't notice glare when watching tv or using my pc at home. haven't had them long enough to use at work.

take the glasses off, and reflect a light off of the lenses. if the reflection is purple, pink, or green, then they have the anti-glare coating.
