kevin nealon was on comedy central presents last night.

he was talking about how you're on a date and the guy selling roses walks by and you feel like you HAVE to buy a rose for your date, even if you're not hitting it off

he asked why you never see a guy walking around selling power tools or something, and make the women feel like they have to buy their date a wrench.

it's a double standard :p

i end up buying/borrowing tools everytime i work on my jeep. How often do you need a 36MM socket? I end up spending so much on tools its disgusting. Next on my list is new jackstands and floor jack.

A set of jackstands and a hydraulic floor jack are absolute necessities, IMO. They pay for themselves the first time you use them.

Sears often has a sale on a 3-piece set; two, 3 ton jackstands and a 3-ton floorjack for $150. They all come together in one big mutha box (box weighs 110 pounds! :Q *hernia*). I've used my set quite a lot in the past year.

Not that I need to jack up the truck to change the oil. I can easily slide under my truck w/o any jacking of the truck at all.

I got a 3 ton floor jack and a pair of 3 ton jack stands for $90 when they were on sale at work(i told my boss he should just start paying me in tools/parts), and they have been well used. My only problem is going to be storeage space for these things. When you're in university(dorm) where does one store:

3 ton jack
3 ton jack stands (2)
2 ton jack stand (2)
4 winter tires on rims
socket set
drain pan
various fluids

i could keep most of that in my car(my crown vic has trunk space to spare) BUT i don't feel like hauling around an extra 200lbs of stuff everywhere i go. What do you guys do?

I'll stick with Craftsman. Especially since Sears is like 5 minutes away from my house in case I break anything. :D Lifetime warranty on tools owns. :D

i never needed them because i have always had aftermarket bottle jacks which have done their job, but now i want to do more suspension work and need better stuff. I have to replace all the bushings int he front end, too many squeaks, rattles and clicks.
