Got my windshield replaced three months ago. New car like smell still lingers.

I had a long crack in my windshield, and I got it replaced. Went to a place that advertised low price windshields. They put in a Chinese brand (XYG or something I think?). Everything looks fine, it looks the same.

When they replaced it, there was a new car smell after the process. While the smell has faded away, I can still smell it. If I leave the car over the weekend without driving it, it is very noticeable. I can leave the window slightly cracked and the smell doesn't build up.

Is this normal? If not, what should I do? Would replacing the windshield fix this issue?

The guy at the place was very Soup Nazi-ish, and I am not alpha enough to go back and complain.

You will have to keep airing the car out with the windows open until it goes away or you get used to it and can't smell it anymore.

It is most likely the glue they used that is releasing fumes as it cures. The smell should disappear over time.

On a Chinese made windshield, that smell could plutonium mixed with lead and a dash of asbestos. Those folks will toss just about anything into a product being exported to the US.

Did they also have polonium bubble tea while he was waiting?
