I finally was able to install XP on my new system, by putting the ram at DDR333, now that its installed I tried putting it at DDR400 and I get weird errors in windows when I boot up, and sometimes random reboots..my motherboard is an asus k8v se deluxe and my ram is kingston 512mb, reffered by asus themselves..anyone know what could be causing this?

What speed is the RAM ? PC2700? PC3200? That is a key piece of information we need to help. If it is PC2700 or less, that is your problem. PC2700 RAM is rated for 333MHz, though it can often be overclocked to higher speeds. Of course, this is not assured in any case. If your RAM is better than PC2700 I can't say what the problem is.

Yep. We need to know the rated speed of the DDR. If it's less than PC3200 try relaxing the timings to something like 3-4-4-8 ... but then you lose all the benefits of the speed boost.

Full system specs?

Good job on getting as far as you did by bringing the memory speed down. 🙂 Hopefully a voltage bump to 2.7 volts on the memory will get you the rest of the way, but also remember that two DIMMs is the max for DDR400 with that board. How many modules do you have in it?
