Anyone have any experience with this stepping? I won't be able to have it installed until Saturday but am very, very anxious!

Have the same stepping, it likes default volts up to 2.5ish I have found out. I really haven't tried anything over that because for me, 2.52GHz is fiiiine.

But it also depends on the board, because it's a locked multi of 9 you have to crank out the HTT.

I just got mine from Monarch. CCBWE 0551UPMW, and it doesn't like 2.6ghz even at 1.46 voltage :(

I was wishing for 2.7ghz, hoping for 2.6ghz, so hopefully I can at least run at 2.5ghz :(

Hmmm...my 0551UPMW does better...well, luck of the draw as usual...production week and batch code are far overrated IMHO and even referred to as stepping all the time
The processors of one batch MAY have the tendency to oc better, if this batch had a very good yield due to very hq silicone and a perfect processing, but you can never tell for sure just by the batch number how much it overclocks.

Some weird stuff happens when I try 9x300. I can get into windows, but my speakers emit the worst whining noise I've ever heard.

To the OP congrats, I wasn't sure I would notice much of a difference going from a Winchester at 2.4 to my Opteron, but at 2.8 the thing rocks my socks off. I especially like being able to switch tasks so effortlessly.

Dual Core Opterons FTW.

I have a DFI-Ultra-D, and they are automatically locked.

This isn't motherboard related. I can set it to 6x300 and everything will be fine. It has something to do with the CPU itself not liking 2.7ghz.
