Got my new wheels! PICS!

My new wheels my father bought me as a christmas and birthday gift. They are 15x6.5 Rota Circuit 8s, riding on some Toyo T1-S' in the 195/50/15 form. They are "Royal Silver", which is a basically a polished wheel. The combo weighs about 30lbs a set, and the rims itself weight about 11.5 to 12lbs. I tried to keep unsprung weight down to a minimum because of ride quality and performance concerns. This combo weighs the same as the 14" factory wheels I had taken off. My biggest concern was getting wheel that didn't match the car, or was too big, or too small, but I think I made the right choice.

My factory wheels for comparison.

Thanks

hey, its a miata .. ! 😛 its actually a really sweet ass miata and those rims are really nice!

wow, 12lbs.. not bad !

I'm wondering why you went for a new set of rims man, the stock rimz were not half bad, though I do like the lower profile tires.

If anything the rads would make for a bumpier ride though right?

You could have made those by just shaving the spokes on the stock wheels down. They are cool still. It's hard for me to look at miatas without laughing though. 😀

No really,,, When are you going to post pictures of your new wheels?

They both look the same on a little shine on the newer pics.

i know a judge in roswell who would put you in jail for saying the miata is a girly car (if you ever happened to be in his court that is). they seem to be rather popular auto-x cars. i'm guessing half of the people that call them girly (hell, 90%) have never driven one and have no idea how fun they are.

Not this crap again:roll:

I can't say I've ever seen a woman drive a Miata. Maybe that's because I live in PA and I don't see very many Miatas.

Its a$$holes like you who are destroying the roadster market in the US. If it doesn't have a 4.0+ L or 8 cylinders, its a chick car... never you mind that more than half of the Mustang/Corvette/Camaro drivers I've seen out there are women.

And I've never seen a female Miata driver... unless you count that cute Asian girl who posted pics of herself and her ride in the other thread

They look nice IMO. Did you guys cash in the lawn mower for the car?? Just wondering.....

man 30 lbs for tire/wheels, damn light. These don't come in a 55 offset right? 😛 My stock 15" steel wheels weigh 38 lbs, I have a set of 16" OEM alloys that weigh 41 lbs. Heavy all around. 🙁

Can I have an Elise?

I've been good, I swear!😀😀

I have those exact wheels on my car. I've heard a ton about 'poor finishes..'.. but mine, after about two years, still still like new.. glue on the centercaps.. they WILL fall off. I have 205/50/15's on there now, might go to 195/50/15 next time for better milage and wear. The center of the tire wears way too fast right now.. unless I lower the tire pressure bigtime

joe, at rspeed, is awesome. That shop is just up the road from me... I think they started focusing more in mini's lately....
