Thanksgiving was interesting this year as we had my mother, my sisters and their husbands over, so, five adults plus myself, my wife and my kids. At one point the kids had Netflix going in the basement, the womens had it going in the living room and the men had it going in the office. Plus all the womens were using their tablets while watching whatever sappy program they were.

Ahhh, 21st century family time.

Good for you! You now have what everyone in Japan, Korea and ?France? had five years ago at half your price.

Japanese, Koreans, Swedish and Norwegians already having 1gbps at home and experimenting even higher.

Once you hit 15mb/s, speed doesn't matter much anymore unless you transfer very big files. The big problem is upload speeds can still be painfully slow.

Is it uncapped. That's what matters more to me these days. I just got an uncapped ISP and it's nice that I can watch Netflix without worrying about going over.

Yeah I don't get the point of giving such crappy uploads. We have a new competition in town now and they do offer up to 100mb over coax (fiber to the node) but they still have only like 1mbps upload. The only reason I'd want anything higher than my current 8mb connection is so I can host servers. You ain't gonna do that with a 1mbps upload. Then there's caps, those also defeat the entire purpose of fast internet. What's the point of having 100mbps if you can only use it for a few hours at it's full extent?

I rather have my low speed 8mbps connection that is uncapped than a fast one that is. Though I still wish I could get a 100/100mbps connection... that's not capped. :D Heck even if I had to pay a couple hundreds bucks per month. I'd save by not needing to host my servers in a data center.
