I just secured the deal for my new car. I can't believe it - this thing was in mint condition! I'm sure Soybomb has an idea of what kind of car this is, but for those who don't know: It's a '89 Shelby CSX-VNT. #212 of 500 made.

Pictures of my future car

She's fast, she's nimble - and best of all, SHE'S MINE!!! :)

Basically when I sell the car I have now, I'll be picking her up and it'll be my full time car - until then I'll be trying to sell my current car off - I CAN'T WAIT!!

It's a Shadow modified by Shelby. Mods include:
Turbo IV engine (Getrag 5sp tranny), with a VNT turbo (compression wheel expands and contracts - eliminates turbo lag) - 175HP/225ft-lbs of torque
Sport suspension (forget the specifics, I think it's got Munroe formula GPs for struts, bigger sway bars)
Heavier Duty brakes (4 wheel disc)
The obvious body kit/ground effects
Completely new interior fabric and steering wheel

And some other small stuff - they're extremely rare, and I'm just psyched because I got my hands on one!!

Not bad Genocide, that's an ample amount of power for such a light vehicle, congrats:)

For those who care - here's what the factory air dam looks like (the one on mine isn't stock unfortunately - but I'll be getting one soon hopefully). Also, a set of rims similar to the ones I'll be getting:
My goal :)

Wow very sweet looking man :) The VNT is a rather rare Chrysler turbo car too! Did you going any of the mailing lists? I don't always get to read them? Also you might want to keep your eyes open...I might just know a thing or two about a hush-hush project going where a certain group of people is decoding the cars computers so we can program our own custom computers with an eprom burner...with a pretty simple little board too it looks like we'll be able to hook a laptop up to the computer for some datalogging...... :) I'm not sure if you've driven a turbo car before or not, but the cold weather just means added fun! Enjoy!

edit: remember that valve cover that you have is worth about $300 or so, so if you ever take it off be very very careful not to crack it tightening it back down!

Also it looks like your a/c belt may be put on upside down hehe, usually the little "hills" ride against the pulley, but I doubt it matters too!

one last edit: If the wheels on it are these HERE take very very careful care of them, they are fiberglass and unavailable. They will be essential if you ever make it a show car and those who sell them usually get like $600 for TWO!

Ahh, true - I didn't even think this was a problem (even though it's logical). At first from all the pictures I've seen, I thought that it was a regular TBI valve cover with a shelby logo stamped into it. But I saw how different it was when he popped the hood today! I'll definitly be careful! Thanks for the tip! :)

Funny you mention that, because the story he had for me went like this. The reason why the front air dam isn't stock is because he had sold the car to someone and realized he wanted it back. So he approached him with an offer (more than what he sold it for), and the guy took it - but not before swiping the front air dam and 2 of the Fiberides! He replaced the Fiberides with a pair of slightly scuffed ones before he sold it back :( , but they weren't too bad. But man - what a rat! That was practically robbery!!

P.S. Soybomb, that pic you linked to is a pic of the actual car as it stands now. So yeah - it's got the Fiberides :)

I'd really like to open the exhaust up a bit. Otherwise, I think I'll be happy with the performance for a good while. Otherwise, I want to get a new set of rims. Not that the Fiberides look bad, but something with more depth looks better (if you look at the 2nd link I gave, you'll see what I mean).
