I'm a little leary of trying to flash the bios if not needed, I've heard a few horror stories. Is setting up 2 Raptors in a striped array so hard? More horror stories! I would appreciate any advise, I think I'm gettin too old for this stuff!

I wouldn't flash the bios until you have some reason to believe it's necessary. Why raid the Raptors, the performance gain is minimal and disaster recovery is just that, a diaster.....

The new 1009 bios allows the use of positive dividers. Both the 903 and 1009 bios fixed the temp bug the mobo had with certain cpu's (my 4800 being one of them, it read the cpu temp ~5-10C higher than it should be).

Ok. From what I've read over the Asus forums 1009 does more harm than good. I was quite hesitant to upgrade from 0506 to 1009. So I opted for the best choice (IMO) was 0903. I haven't heard any problems with 903, so I figure it should be a win/win situation. Not saying 1009 will but out on you, but I rather go the safer route.
