I work in IT at a consulting firm, one of our vendors has loaned us a new ThinkPad T60 Core Duo for a few days (obviously in the hopes that we order a few dozen for our consultants out in the field). It's got a Yonah T2500 2GHz dual core in it, I'm doing some DC "burn-in" on it to see how it holds up.
Here's its homepage on BOINC SIMAP. It's taking between 32-34 minutes to do each SIMAP WU, which is just a little longer what my A64 X2 3800+ does at stock speed. I wanted to run some Rosetta on it but the client says the project is down for maintenance right now 🙁 Ah well, maybe tomorrow, depends on who else at the office wants to get their hands on this thing.
Here are some CPUZ screenies.
Here's its Everest report. CPU temps are only 37C after running BOINC apps at 100% load for 30 minutes!
I'm as much of an AMD fanboy as many of the rest of you on this forum but I always like trying out new tech whenever I can get my hands on it. If Yonah can DC this well imagine what Conroe and Merom will be like in a few months. And then imagine what AMD's response will be 😀
