Got my GPS stolen out of my car this weekend

What's interesting is there was no broken glass or sign of forced entry. I guess they slim jimmed the door. They took the unit and power cable. But forgot the nice case and window mount. It was a nice magellen maestro 4370 (high res). Got a good deal on it (80 bucks) on ebay....

1999 Toyota Camry.

OK, that's the problem then. I operate on a 'leave no trace' level so that thieves will move on to another car that has the screen mount in clear view...

Wow awesome,
if my car ever gets broken into, I want that guy to do it. Nothing like losing 50 dollar item with 400 bucks in damage.

Actually the theft left no trace, the door linkage is fine, the door is good, no physical damage to any other portion of the car.

lol around my area they'll look for the circle that the suction cup leaves on the window. They know people leave these things in the car all the time. Assholes stole mines 3 cars ago.

Yeah that was my point, you should be happy. My room mate's car got broken into with a brick last year - $250 worth of damage for $30 ipod that didn't hold charge.

part of the reason I got a factory system...the trade off being that my maps were out of date after a year 🙁

Heh, with GPS units selling for less than $100 I would imagine there wouldn't be much incentive to break into cars to steal them. Guess I was wrong...

Chrysler has a factory Garmin system now.

same thing happen to me 3 days ago, It was a little shitty tom tom 125, i ordered a new one on ebay for $40.

He left no trace because he planted a car bomb and didn't want you to go to a mechanic who would find the bomb. He stole the GPS because that way if you did notice any traces of forced entry you'd blame it on simple theft.
