I'm 18 and moving to Seattle for college on the 13th.

Renting a detached/fully functional/furnished room from a gal. I know I'm not buying a house or even renting my OWN place, but it's still pretty cool.

For those curious, all bills besides tuition will be paid myself.

Any money saving tips? :p

EDIT: Elitists who wanna say my parents do everything for me here need not post. That is not true.

So how much does tuition cost again?

Get only the basic things you absolutely need (phone and internet) and make yourself a budget. Skip cable & satellite, assuming it saves you money.
Stick to the budget.
Do NOT buy a big A/V system. Dont buy heavy/expensive furniture. Just get a basic bed and plastic drawers from Walmart. Plenty of cheap floor standing lamps with a variety of fluorescent bulbs, so you can get cheap light anywhere you need in any intensity you need.

Go to Costco and get bulk shampoo, razors, toothpaste, etc, and keep that stuff in stock. Overall it will save trips to the supermarket.
Ditto food. Get plenty of staples like VanDeKamps beans and soups and spagettios and such. Always have plenty around. If you run out of money it will be good emergency food.

Thanks. My rent includes ALL utilities, which includes internet and TV (although I will be providing my own wireless bridge as well as wiring my new room).

I already have a big A/V system which I've purchased already. I have everything I need to move, just need basics (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc).

 Congrats!

I've never been to Seattle but it is on my list of places to spend some time in. I actually have friends there...hippy friends that everyone here would hate.

I think even though you might have saved money that you'll regret not living in dorms the first year. You get a ton of awesome connections living with a large number of people.

And by "connections" we mean "bi-curious sluts".

Seriously dude, the easiest time in your life to get laid is college. After that it always requires a fair amount of work.

Of course, having your own place is immensely attractive to 18 year old females, so I recommend you take advantage of it.
