Got My First Pistol

Nemesis13

I picked up a Taurus G2 24/7 9mm. I have ran about 500 rnds through it of varying types,Cheap to more expensive and not one jam. And at 425 after tax and background check i think i did ok. Any of you shot one? Any problems?

Yeah I have noticed this , apparently they were not very well made back in the day. I have had 0 problems out of the pistol, i was hoping for a little better accuracy out of the box but it has adjustable sights so ill take 500rnds to the range and get it on point.

Nice, I was looking to get one of those but found an FNX-40 instead.

I had a Mil Pro PT111 that I really enjoyed (traded it because I felt like it), ran 500 rounds through it with only two FTFs, caused by my thumb hitting the mag release.

Taurus gets a bad wrap, but hey they have a lifetime warranty so that has to count for something.

For a minute I thought that this was the other Nemesis. D:
If it were, I would advise him to return it immediately.

<---Taurus hater. Still, we all have to start somewhere. Glad to see another proud owner of a handgun.

How long ago was this? My old man had a lot of pistols starting back in the 80s including quite a few Taurus's. We went to the range every Sunday for years and never had a single problem with any of them.

The only ones that ever had issues that come to mind was a S&W 422 (semi-auto .22LR pistol) that started to jam up quite a bit after having it for a couple years, and that one got shot pretty much every weekend. The other was actually recently we started going to the range again, maybe once a month or so. He picked up a Sig Mosquito (another semi-auto .22LR pistol) and that thing was a piece of junk from the word go, it would jam up with every brand of ammo imaginable. Never had any issues that whole time with any large caliber guns of any manufacturer though.

Taurus has parts fitting issues, so basically its a pistol lottery. Some are good and cycle smoothly, others cycle rough and ultimately leads to their failure.

lots of Taurus haters out there but I've never had problems with my PT99

Taurus is by and large a budget brand, so in some areas they take some hits in quality. I've heard more than a few stories of their cheap plastic grips shattering under slow-fire and hit-and-miss reliability with their autos.

Personally I've got nothing against them, but if I had a choice I wouldn't bet my life on one.

I had a PT-92. While it was reliable it was still just a cheap knock off of the Beretta 92. It was my first handgun and the last and only Taurus I've ever purchased.

Try not to kill anyone... including yourself with it.

My buddy has a Taurus Millennium and it has one of the worst triggers I've ever used. Hopefully it's not in any of their other products.

Yea I am not a fan of the trigger pull. I have been around guns my entire life so i know how to handle one, just finally bought my own pistol, I have many rifles.
