To tell you the truth, I'm nervous. I was so eager to get a car that I got one very recently, however I don't have my full license. I was just driving it around without the license (I DO have insurance though), but after I learned of the fines that I could get doing that I stopped. Now, my test is tomorrow. I better pass, I don't want to wait another month before I can drive! :)

If you get a female (or male if your into that) driving instructor, you could always flirt. I did when I took my test but it was kinda hard since she was pretty white trashy. I guess I'll never know if my perfect score was my driving or not but I beg to differ... :)

Make sure that you put on your seat belt and ask the instructor to do the same. If seen a person fail before he even backed out of the space because he didn't do that.

are you going to the one on Henri-Bourassa or the one in Laval? I've hear horror stories about the one in Henri-Bourassa so I went to Laval. I passed the first time.

Best of luck :)

If you do a 3 point turn, be sure to use your blinker, and look both ways before backing up after your first turn. I forgot to look back (I was on a closed driving course, on a dead end...apparently I was supposed to look anyways)..

Come to a *complete* stop at every traffic sign, and use your blinker before every turn, even going into a parking space. I'm not sure if you use a blinker to indicate which direction you back out of a parking space or not...can't remember what I was supposed to do then.

Don't break any speed limits, and make sure the instructor (and you) is wearing a seatbelt. Don't do anything until you're told - ie leave the car off until you're told to start it, etc.

Good luck! :)

You actually have to take a driving test to get your liscense?:p

Got mine a few months ago, all I had to do was pass drivers ed (a joke), and pass a written test also (extremely easy). In Delaware...

Good Luck:)

you probably have. It's when you make a U-Turn but don't have enough space to go all the way around without stopping at reversing :)

Just watch out for the "No Turn on Red" sign. Thats instant failure and one of the easiest mistakes to miss.

Also, bring a pretty nice vehicle. Don't bring a POS barely sruving car. The nicer the better. I brought the family Lexus ES300 because the only other availalabe cars were too old that it wasn't worth risk taking a test in and have it not work (lights, engine, etc.). The instructor chilled and I had the easiest test possible. Never had to park on the side of the road, drive backwards, etc.

Of course this was like 3 years ago.

It's used to turn around when you don't have room for a complete U-turn. Basically (assuming you are on the right side of the road), pull to the right shoulder, turn your left blinker on, check for traffic, and turn hard left. Go as far as you can (safely), look behind you, cut the wheel to the right, and back up a bit, enough until you can turn to the left (to get straight on the road) again. Pretty self-explanatory from this point, I think..just turn left/drive forward.

Re-reading my explanation, I realize it isn't too terribly concise..but hopefully it'll work :)

Don't worry too much, there are hecka lotta stupid @$$ drivers with licenses out there that suck worse than you do and prolly don't deserve to be on the road.

I thought I said I passed first shot? Oh well, must've left it out. You haven't drove until you drive in NYC...

I never had to take drivers ed or anything other than the standard written test. It was so cruise, this was 4 years ago. The test was quick, 10 minutes maybe. No parallel parking, only backed up to get out of the stall, and it was a nice guy who gave it.

was just some teasing ;) Well you should see this wackos around here. But yes, NYC is pretty terrible, drive when it's red and stop when it's green ;)
