Can you give some info on the reduced screensize options for gaming? I understood that
you can reduced the aspect ratio so that it shows 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 (or whatever)
without stretching the screen. It put black bars around the edges. Not all games will run
at 1920x1200, so I am curious how it looks.

I am at work right now, but I want to try that. I saw 1:1 and other options, but haven't tried changing them yet.

Assuming I get to come home this weekend, Ill have it up and running and try to bench both LCD's. If I dont get to come home, Im going to have to wait two more weeks. :( And have a sad wife and kids to boot.

Going to bench it on a X850XT/PE, 3500+ Whinchester, and 1gig ram.

Wow nice price. I want to order one today, but am waiting for a coupon code. How did you get it so low?

I know a guy who has a good contact at Dell. He got me my 2005FPW for a great price too. He will probably start selling them for $900 in the FS forums. I dont want to say his name till he does, so he doest get flooded with questions.

Hi guys,

I just ordered my 2405 today !
I can't wait to have it delivered ! :)
Delivery time is about 10 days here in Brussels, hope it won't be delayed.
For the moment I have a 17 inch samsung 710V with 25ms response time, I think it will really be a big change to have the 2405 ! A few years ago I had a IIyama 22 inch CRT and I just loved it, now I was searching quite a time for a big big screen with 16ms to replace my 17" lcd. This 2405 is really cheap, I was thinking about the HP 23" or even a Philips 23" but the price is still about 1800 ? here in Belgium, so for 1250? I get the Dell 2405 ! I will keep you posted as soon as I have my littlle baby and as I am a gamer (Call of duty, colin Mcrae, doom III, HL² etc..) I will give you my opinion.
It's really a crazy price, 3 years ago I paid 1200? for my first LCD, a Hitachi 17 inch with 40ms response time, now you get a 24" wide, 16ms for the same price thx to Dell !
Can't wait !

See ya !

Sweet. That's a monster!!!

How's the "ghosting" compared to 2005? Did you ran any demanding FPS game?

Played farcry and didnt notice any ghosting at all. I really never had ghosting issues on the 2005 as well.

As for 2 inputs showing 1/2 screen.....ill have to try that out tonight.

Nice. I myself had experienced with both my 2001FP and 2005FPW minor ghosting only @ racing games. Do you by any chance have any of them to test? (CM2005,Richard Burns...) Thanks.

Hey, just thought I'd let people know I'm working on making a review for this monitor. I have another thread going, so if you have this or even the 2001 or 2005 stop in there and vote in the polls and add anything you'd like. Always glad to take suggestions and get contributions (no not money, unless you're offering that is :) )

Got mine, and it's darn right lovely. Even with the fast response time, there's still blur in FPS games or other fast action games. (This coming from someone that's used a CRT for a while, so I may be biased). I'm getting used to it, but it did bug me at first.

I havent used CRT in over 5 years so i cant see the ghosting so well as other hardcore gamers. I tried looking and still cant really tell.

Your system will be fine at that res just make sure you turn AA and AF down. I just ordered a 2405 a couple of hours ago my self. VERY EXCITED !!!

Anyways if you aren't happy with the performance you can using scaling or put up some black bars and it iwll be fine.

That's a beautiful monitor. Seeing photos of it make me really want to have one, but I'm not one to spend heavy cash on my system. No component over $200 if I can help it :)

Now if only the 4" PSP screens could come dead pixel free as well.
:p

Boy, glad I still love my 2001FP.
It's my first LCD, and I'm reluctant to get a new one right away.
I WAS planning on getting a second 2001, though, and that inclination might just about be dead now...
HL2 deathmatch could only be enhanced with the extra view on the sides.
dammit...
