heres the specs of my new pc

antex sx830 case
amd t'bird 1.2 ghz 266mhz
epox 8k7a mobo
512 MB Crucial PC2100 DDR ram
40 GB IBM 60gxp hd
Voodoo 3 3000 vid card (yes this will get upgraded when I get the funds)
Sound Blaster Live! Value sound card
Plextor 12/10/32 cdrw
50x cdrom

I will probably do minimal overclocking..(heard just by adjusting a few dip switches, you can make a 1.2 ghz run at 1.4)

What heatsink, fans, etc should I get for good cooling at a reasonable cost and how do I set these up in the case. Thanks!

What kind of case do you have? I myself like the ALPHA PAL 6035 with the Delta Fan everyone complains about. As for case fans, I just "upgraded" all of my fans to Panaflo fans, they have almost as much flow as the old ones and are a bit quieter.

You might want to stick 2 additional fans inside the case to increase the airflow coming in and out of the case. For starters put an intake fan at the bottom of you case near the front (usually there is some form of space left available for it). Have it sucking cool air into your case. Second you will want to mount another fan in the back of the unit near the PSU. Make that fan an exhaust fan (blowing air out). Some say that using similar size fans on both spots work well. I've also heard that you might want to have a larger fan for the intake, since they PSU also acts as an exhaust fan as well (Keep in mind that you want to keep the amount of air moving into the case the same as the amount of air evacuating the case.)

Hope this helps..
