Just wanted to say that I got my CPL in the mail today (I live in Michigan). WOOOOOT!

Probably gonna wait a little bit to see what type of carry option I want to use (shoulder harness, IWB, etc) and the gun I will use, but at least I can buy handguns now without a Permit to Purchase.

When I filled out the final paperwork, the guy said it could take 2-3 months to come but it's only been maybe a month or five weeks.

Sorry, just had to post, I'm pumped!

LOL. I'd probably never use an ankle holster. I'm planning on IWB but recently at a gun show saw an interesting shirt that had a built-in shoulder-type holster on it. So I've kinda narrowed it down to those options.

I live about 30 miles from Detroit. ;)

380 or even The Judge in your ankle holster can save your life. I'm not familiar with where you live, but if you transit thru Detroit regularly, you need to be equipped to take care of yourself. Good luck, and let's hope Romney gets elected. That will make it just so much easier for all of "US" when the time comes that we have to defend ourselves.

That judge pistol thing is stupid... it's virtually useless loaded with 410 and much bigger than it needs to be with 45. If you're going to carry a revolver it would be very low on my list.

410 in buckshot could be useful. Of course, nobody carries that.
They carry wimpy slugs that are useless in a short barrel.

how long did it take?

When I got mine, it was something like 95 days from application til I got the postcard (back when they didn't mail them to you).

I'm game for a Silver Bullet meetup!

Also: buy every type of holster that you think you may like. I tried IWB, SOB and OWB options before I found that OWB at 2:00 or 3:30 (depending on my shirt) are what I prefer. People love to buy used holsters, so don't worry about buying an unneeded holster.

If the gun is small enough I prefer pocket.
If I am at the range and nobody will get offended I prefer a drop leg.

This. Gotta find what fits the way you dress or change the way you dress.

Taurus .38 ultralite /desantas nemesis pocket holster because I wear Dcokers 6 days a week and they have big pockets.

I saw a dude today wearing a shirt that said "The Second Amendment--The Original Homeland Security".

You people and your concealed licenses/permits ;)

Congrats on the license. You'll have to experiment to see what method of carry feels comfortable to you.

I had to get a license. Wasnt much work though. Fill out online form and give them money. 5 days later I was good to go. Method of carry here isnt stated so we can carry anyway we wish.

How long is the class?
State by state varies.

S.C. 8 hrs +fee/paperwork. Took me 120 days to get it in the mail.
GA just pay the fee+paperwork. No class.
Chicago.......the snowball has a better chance than you.

Hey El, WOOOOOOOOOT.
