Will be doing the device switch tomorrow from my trusty Pearl 8120.

Been playing around with the device without a SIM and the screen is really amazing. Colours and detail pop. The sound quality from the inboard speakers is quite amazing, too!

More to come!

I for one, hate you. Which carrier, and grats on getting it early. I hope you didn't get a pre-production model that RIM will just shut down.

Can you test how the GPS works (getting a signal), blackberry maps speeds (they are slow on EDGE and to load on the 8310), would like to hear more about the external speaker - sound wise, how is the call clarity, keyboard - yay or nay?, new touchpad - yay or nay?

I'll prolly think of more later. again, grats :)

It's a seeding device, it won't get shut down. :) I use O2, UK and will be connecting it up to my corporate BES later today.

The in built speaker is astounding!

Congrats, Divide. Please post your thoughts on the screen and GPS and maps and multimedia (ie. movies) and internet browsing. I'm very interested in the Bold. If it's good enough, I could be convinced to Ebay my iPhone. :)

OK, quick update:-

- Screen: OMG, and I mean OMG, it's so crystal clear it's not even funny. The thing is bound to the front or something, It's incredible. It's LED backlit.
- The GPS is pretty quick and works nicely with Blackberry maps. Not used it in anger yet.
- The browsing experience is not so great. It's better than previous Browser builds, but it still needs work. I'm having trouble getting sites to not recognise I'm on a mobile device. I need a build of Opera Mini on there, but it's not out for the Bold yet.

Bigrash: Certainly, when I have time (I'm moving house this week!)
Foges: I was thinking it would but it's no bigger than a curve, in reality ,and not much over my Peal, may 1cm width. Pictures and the KB make it look big. It is fairly weighty though, but won't make your pocket drag.

Oh yeah, it also it cost me nothing. HATE ME MORE! ;)

Just need to upgrade my account to 3G. It connects to 3G and I get the BB logo to show service but it's not taking calls. Need to call my Network and get that done.

So far the battery life looks like it going to go for 2.5 days(on all the time) on 2.5G. Much better than my Pearl, but only 3G use will really tell us what is what.

I too have handled the Bold. I agree on the screen, it's beautiful. Problem is I am spoiled by the browser on my iPhone 3G. Browsing on the Bold was a complete chore, and sometimes things just don't render right. 3G is a battery killer on the Bold, but that's not anything that wasn't expected. I knew it was going to die quickly based on my experience with the iPhone. I will say though my BJ II is 3G and it's battery life is fantastic. Too bad it doesn't hold a candle in any other respect.
