and whats wrong with that if its zinc plated? zinc help prevent galvanic corrosion.

Also gabe says these guys have a hugh warrenty period on them. Most definitely longer then your hardware's life expectency. 😛

I don't think Swiftech would be dumb enough to mix the metals. They coat the aluminum in a mixture of nickel plating (MIL-C-26074E grade B) and Zinc Cobalt plating (ASTM B 840-99 grade 6) rendering it harmless to copper. Hey aigomorla, have any experience with EK water blocks? I've been considering getting these for my big upgrade later this year. Gonna go with CPU, GPU blocks and maybe a northbridge block.

Not the cpu block but your other components...there are examples of other swiftech block with AL that was protected and they corroded..Marci has some examples as well as several others at XS....I posed the question to Gabe if the Zinc comes off and corrodes my loop is he going to replace it? Guess what no answer?

I will pass on this block ....

There actually good provided you have nice flow and no restrictions.

Okey so i bowed my block. And yes i did it correctly. My mobo actually had a slight bend to it, which is suposed to happen on a bowed mounting.

And so far, and neal your going to think im bsing, but i honestly aint..

The GTX is scaring me... im idling at 23C on 1.4V @ 3.6ghz. Ambients 65 in my room.

I'll do some tests after i let her run. Trying to get last min bubbles out of the system.

Also, the A1 PWNS. im gonna try to for 3.7 at the settings above. 😀

And those of you who participated in my other thread...

YES the coolant is purple 😛

idle at 23C @ 1.4V... mmmmmm i likes......

EDIT: Heres a quick orthos. After ive done all my reviews, i'll edit the first page to show results. But so far, this block is scary.

blah i should just amend to the top, but i think this needs its own section:

When you guys bow mount, you need to really crank that block ontop of the CPU:

First off you should lap it:

Then my bend on mobo with bow mounting:

Lastly, if you dont use a backplate, you can break your board. This is my little irony:

Im being punished by god for making fun of thermaltake watercooling. But then again, that backplate doesnt come from watercooling. But its still thermaltake on my watercooling. ARGH!

heh.... did my 1 hour orthos...

She crashed last night after 5 hours. It was her ram settings. I had to downclock and downspeed them a tad bit. :\

1 Hour Orthos

hmmmmm....

bowing = good if you know how to do it..
GTX = :Q if bow mounted correctly.
