Got an excellent deal on a aiw 9800se (£190 inc shipping) that was guaranteed soft modable. Arrived today for my HTPC machine a Lian Li pc 9300. It had a p4 2.4c / 2 x 256 pc3200 and a radeon 9600pro @ 500/660, but the AIW was such a good deal I couldnt turn it down. On the one hand it (the AIW) works excellent, but the problem is that my PSU cant handle the 2.4c when its overclocked to 250fsb / 3.0ghz
with the 9800se running as well. Although to be honest its only a 200watt matx psu so I shouldnt expect miracles.
Current score on 3dmark2003 is 5500 so its performing well, but 3dmark2001 is only 13500 which shows the CPU as being the current weak part - but then I game on my 32" screen at 800x600 so we are not talking a major issue - but that 2.8ghz prescott is going to find a home PDQ on release.
One thing I do find funny about the 9800se is that the default memory clock is 340ddr but the memory is only 3.3ns.
