Well, everyone was right. These are packaged 10 8x discs in paper sleeves in a plastic container.

Hard to complain for $5, but Best Buy needs to learn they need to put the proper descriptions of products on their website or they're headed for a lawsuit. 12x CD-Rs in individual jewel cases. Yeah, right.

Sorry, this is not a Hot Deal. Please post this in the Moderator sponsored ~~~~ Brag & Moan ~~~~ thread.

Wag,
How was it shipped? UPS or USPS?

dvdchance,
It was an online-only deal a couple weeks back.

Still waiting for mine, according to the BB web page they were shipped
8/28. I have 2 more sets of 50 from last week that are still "on order". I was never emailed any tracking number, so were they sent USPS? That would explain the slow shipment.

I just burned one at 12x and had no problems. They appear to be decent enough.

I have used them before.and I am still waiting for mine too.

They shipped 8/28.. The csr says they allow 3 days to send, then 10 days to arrive...so you cant complain till 9/13.

Also, i had a bunch of orders they cancled..so just to give them a hard time..I am gonna give them hell about their advertising...it said jewel caseS, plural..not 1 jewel case and some paper sleeves.

Hmm...if i file a lawsuit..can I use the local B & M as the address..heheheh

Got mine last Friday, myself!

I don't think they're quite as cheap as some were saying, and for that price, I don't think it really matters.

They'll fit my needs for the near future.

Cool! i got mine too! Weird, the e-mails I got said that they shipped out 4 of them first, then a 5th one. But I got all 5 in one big box. ALso the bottom of the CD's are Goldish-yellowgreen I guess people call this "silver?" anyway they look like the Compusa Kodak CD's, They look like good quality CD's! Same color as Imation 80 minute CD's.

I just placed the order...and it went through I think. I had added the cdr's on 28th I think, and after that I didn't bother, since the site was too busy. but it went through just now. I have a order number, and I wonder when I will get the cdr's. anyways, thanks for this good deal. (I do hope that I can see the cdr's in my mail box some 10 days from now) :)

I had some problems burning Dysan media on my Panasonic CD-R after the latest firmware update. However, I couldn't pass up 50 blanks shipped for $5.15. Imagine my surprise when I, too, received these silverish blanks and not the light green that I feared. I've burned 2 so far, and they have been great! I get in on the second offering, too, and should have 50 more coming! Good God, between this deal, a deal that I got from Best Buy B&M on some Verbatim blanks, and Outpost.com, I have like 350 blank CDs!

Bitch: I never said I was going to sue them, I just said they're going to get sued.

They can put whatever the hell they want into a disclaimer, but if they knowingly advertise a product as one thing and it turns out to be something else (and of lesser quality) they're still legally responsible to fulfill the orginal order or offer a refund.

With all the mistakes being made with e-tailing, it's only a matter of time before some big sale like this initiates a class-action lawsuit. It's one thing to mistakenly advertise a 19" monitor for $300 (ie: Buy.com) it's another thing to advertise a 19" monitor and ship a crappy 17" monitor in it's place (for the same amount) with no explanation to the customer.

Laf, I posted the original deal and I just got them in the mail earlier today (yesterday). Funny thing is that I'm still burning from a 50-pack of Memorexes I got last year from BestBuy at $35!!! How insanely cheap can storage get? Crazy!

CDRs are pretty much free now.

When DVD-R (RW, +RW, etc) starts becoming cheap enough for consumers to afford (under $500 for the drives) you'll see how much storage can cost at the beginning of it's life-cycle. DVD-Rs are like $30 each now, and I can immagine the RW type costing $40 or more depending on what type you buy.

Anyone remember when CD-RWs where $25+ each? I can. It wasn't that long ago. Now they're under $1 each.
