I'm excited, yet a little disappointed. I thought this stick of 512 Samsung NOT original 3200 would be able to do 411ddr with no sweat. Unfortunately, it seems that the only way to avoid errors in Memtest is to pump the ddr voltage all the way up.

I really wanted to stay at my current fsb (154), and do a 3:4 to get 411ddr. Alas, my attempt quickly failed and I'm not really comfortable running my memory at the highest voltage setting my board has (p4b533-e).

I've read other threads, followed thugsrook's directions and still no go at lower voltages.

What I would like to know is:

1) is this memory capable of speeds near 400? i thought for sure i'd be able to eek out 411ddr. :| :|

2) is 2.7v for mem too much?

3) any ideas? anyone? what i can do to get this baby to do my bidding?

peace out.

that is some good sounding news :)

should i prime now? or is passing all 11 tests for memtest okay? i've primed for 18 hours before, to test my fsb.

you should actually loop memtest a few times to make sure there arent any heat related issues.

is vdimm the same as ddr reference voltage?

my computer restarts if i set the sdram idle time to 0T.

for voltage, i have to use at least 2.7v.

how many times do i need to loop memtest to check for heat problems?

thanks thugs.

i donno ~ adding voltage does nothing for my ram so i dont bother.

for me, 154fsb is only attainable through 2.9vdimm.

i'd hate to see my mem fry or something so i backed down 1 on the fsb and vdimm to 2.7v.

ran memtest 5 loops, all tests, a-okay!

yea thats probably a good idea :)
going to 2.9v for 1fsb isnt worth it.

(the importance of "mapping out" your system performance!)

good work ! :D

thank you, sir.

i backed down on the fsb and now my ram is totally stable at 408ddr. :)

i kinda wish i had sprung for some corsair to begin with. i've been doing all these "swap" and "trade" schemes. good thing is i get new stuff without paying much money, if any. bad thing is, i can't get stuff like corsair.

oh well. this sure beats 308ddr from before. :) oh man, i just realized i went up by 100. schweeeet!
