If you are using XP, you need to go into Network Neighborhood and use the wizard to add the pc's to the workgroup. Make sure you run the wizard on ALL computers on your home network.
I respectfully disagree, as the XP network wizard has always worked for me in a small, home networking evironment. Why try to confuse the novice people? OMGZ USE LINUX YOU N00B!1!!!
Well, you're free to disagree. Since I've had to sort out a number of systems where the so-called network wizard made things worse than when they started, I advise against using it. It's much easier to tell someone how to manually configure networking, but after the wizard has scrambled it, it's hard to know what they actually have.
The wise-ass Linux comment doesn't need a rebuttal.
