Long Island area of NY on the North Shore...went out today, and on the way to my destination, I actually passed by stations charging over $4.00/gal for regular. I'm kicking myself at the time, thinking I knew I should have filled up a few days ago. But then I actually found a station (BP) that was still selling it for 2.99/gal. Not exactly cheap, but in the relative world we all live in now with gas prices, it was a mini-miracle.

They were just raising the price as I pulled in to 3.19 for regular. Across the street, it was already 3.49. Another reminder that timing is everything.

my gf just called me and asked where was a good place to get gas, that she's needed it for days but is only making time for it now :laugh:
 
Gas jumped to 3.49 here for premium, but dropped back down to 3.29 by this afternoon.

I think gas will drop a little in many areas in the next day or so and drop dramatically in a couple weeks.
