*Got it Working!* Can't get Battlefield 1942 to run on my computer

Yeah, well first thing is I was trying to get the demo version to work on my pc. The problem I was having was when the game starts, I get a black screen and then it crashes to the desktop. I didn't get the game menu or anything. I went to the support board on ea.com and its a known problem. What they said to do is uninstall an refresh rate tools (I was using NVRefresh 2.1) and restart. Also install the newest patch. This method worked for me.

BF1942 is an awesome game to play as long as you connect to a fast server. I'm thinking about buying the full version soon.

 
hi thanks i got it fixed finally ........ hahhaa.... i am using retail version. Yes , i just install the patch and change registry setting and is done !
 
Stop wasting your time on the demo, and spend the money on both BF1942, and their expansion - Road To Rome
