So about 75% of the time its fine. The other 25% it's a nightmare.

Both are Linksys BEFSR41s. I have it set up where the 1st routers LAN IP is 192.168.1.1. The seconds LAN IP is 192.168.2.1 and set as a router rather than gateway, and has DHCP turned off. The 2nd router has a static IP of 192.168.0.1 and the gateway is set to the 1st router (192.168.1.1). There is a cable running from the uplink of the 1st router to port 1 of the second. Finally, every computer on the second router has a static IP and DNS.

So for the most part this works fine. But at random times every day the second router just stops routing. The port 1 LEDs on the first router flash every 3 seconds or so and are otherwise dark. Every internet connection on the first router works fine, but when this happens anyone on the second router can't even ping the first (192.168.1.1). This has no apparent pattern, it just happens, and then fixes it self sometime later in the day.

And ideas? I've already tried switching the routers, I had the same problem.

edit: Well I think I've found the problem. When all 3 computers on the switch are turned on, and the uplink port of router 1 is plugged into the last port on router 2, all network activity on it fubars. Is there any way around this?
