I am considering to get a 4th gen. 20G ipod.

if you have an iPod please tell me what you like about it or what you don't like about it.

any problems you might had or troubles..

if you don't own an iPod, i don't want your comments.

I have a 4th gen Mini iPod. It's great, except the battery is annoying. It shows a full bar, but my iPod dies in an hour :|

Two things:

1. Too big. I've got one of the memory key size MP3 players and I'm VERY happy.

2. Too expensive. I find myself not using it that much. And in the van I just plug the laptop into one of those input-to-tuner devices and pull MP3's off my 60GB drive. 😉

I just got a 6gb mini after selling my 3g 15gb. While i loved the larger capacity of the 15gb over the mini, i was always afraid to scratch the mirrored back and hated getting fingerprints on it....

The mini is great, no scratching, no fingerprints, and smaller size makes it easier for working out with....

Love my 4th Gen iPod. Only wish I had a 30 or 40gb instead of a 20gb

Have also had Creative hd based player (zen something or another 30 gb), that thing sucked.

I have a Mini Ipod which I bought when it first came out (I preordered it) and apparently the battery has already died so I'm gonna try and get one of those replacement batteries and see how they work. I also just bought a 30GB photo Ipod and haven't used it as much as I would like.

how can you have a 4th gen mini? They're only the 2nd gen.

Also try charging it fully, unplugging it, plug it in right away. I bet it will take more than an hour to show full charge again. Repeat this like 3 times and see how long the battery lasts. If it's still only lasting for an hour, file it under warrenty.

hhmmmm i don't consider buying mini though...

paying too much for 1GB, it's cheaper to get an regular iPod.

and for the rest of the space, i will put some back up softwares

i listen to mine every day... listening to "wild" from GTA:VC right now.

like it so much i'm thinking about buying a mac mini...

It's all about the appearance. They don't even both putting in a headphone/line-out option. And the buds included cost $0.25 to make.

Well, you are correct, it is cheaper per GB to buy a Regular iPod, but it all depends on what your purposes are with it... For me, it came down to size and portability.... To be honest, when i had my 15g iPod filled with songs, i rarely listed to more than 1-2gb out of the whole bunch, if even that much...

Huh?

Other players offer higher sound & build qualities and more features for less money. With the ipod you're paying more because it costs them a lot to advertise on TV, especially during sports playoffs.

Line-out, common in high-end Sony Discman and MD, is used to by-pass the internal headphone amp so people can connect the unit to an amp.

I got a 3rd Gen iPod.

Battery dies after 2-3 days of inactivity when the unit is SHUT OFF and not put to sleep mode. RIGHTLY p!ss's me off. I leave it off for the weekend (no commuting) and it dies on Monday on my return trip 🙁

Hopefully they would have sorted this out with the new models.

How important to you are sound quality, price, features and capacity? Rio players and Creative's Nomad Jukeboxes are known for their sound quality, Creative makes some very low-priced, no-frills players, iaudio & iriver players are chock full of features (irivers sound quite good as well).

There is a line out on the iPod dock, is that what your referring to?
