I invited a new friend of mine out, as a thank you for her setting me up with a gig, to a movie tonight. Platonic, I assure you. She said that Friday's are painting nights for her so she can't go out but she invited me over to "watch [her] paint?" What the hell, should I go? I mean, would it be a nice gesture on my part, tediously boring, or just weird? I don't want to be rude but watching someone paint doesn't sound appealing, but I don't want to be an ass after she helped me get work.

My mom is an artist and I watch her paint a lot. It's really not boring. We chat about whats going on in our lives and just have an all around good time. She even takes my suggestions on whatever she's working on (I would not recommend making suggestions to someone you don't know that well). Bring a bottle of wine or a 6 pack over and just hang out. You might enjoy yourself, you never know.

I have a feeling that I'd just get yelled at for distracting her... Maybe i'm over thinking things.. And I've only known her for a few months, what would we talk about? And she doesn't drink so she won't find me very funny.. argh.
 
I dunno - never watched anybody paint. Except that guy on PBS 😛 Could be interesting. Apperently she thinks it will be. What have you got to lose beyond a friday night?
