got into a car accident today

got into a car accident today on RT1 in Norther VA near Woodbridge. I stop since it's a red light and this old dude ( about 40) slammed into my car. Not a lot of damage but his Nissan pickup is pretty much damaged in the front. It's an old Nissan. Ambulance took him away. Cop gave him a ticket. I didn't get any of his info and insurance stuff since the ambulance took him away. Cop said he's going to stop by my house to give me the info but i never did. I'm ok though. 🙂

The funny thing is, the police station is 5 seconds away from the accident.
 
What car do you drive?

A friend of mine (and fellow Civil Air Patrol, USAF Aux member) was in a car accident a while back - totaled his '91 CRX. He was in uniform, and it happened in front of a police officer...the other driver had a suspended license, and was driving his mother's truck. I imagine the offender's day wasn't exactly the greatest. 😀
 
Was the other guy hurt bad?

Good to see you're not hurt. I'm sure the cop'll stop by sooner or later (he should you would think). If not I'm sure you can get the required information if you go down to the station. The cop might be at the hospital talking to the other guy... I remember having to talk to the cops at the hospital about what happened when I had my motorcycle accident.

I used to be in the CAP, squadron 13, Watsonville, CA 🙂
 
Glad to hear you are fine. The same thing happened to me. An old lady hit me while I was stopped at a red light. No one was hurt though. The other two cars involved were destroyed. My Mercedes was only scratched. Gotta love German engineering! 😉

just telling his age. I drive a 90 Mazda Protege.
 
Oh my god, you mean they let people as old as 40 keep their drivers license??? I'm surprised that guy could use his walker to get down the driveway to his mailbox, let alone get in a car and drive!
