NADA = $4100
Kelly Blue Book = $4085

but its not retail. its private deal or even trade in.

For insurance I have always heard of retail being negotiated.

Quite right. Usually they look for comparable cars for sale in your area and then offer you the average cost. They can adjust the payout some, but it takes more negotiating than most people are willing to do. I'm guessing by the op's waterworks he does not have what it takes to
get any more than what the Ins. company offers.

my car's suggested retail is around $4085
the car is not a beater...it was in EXCELLENT shape, paint, mechanically sound
everything,

continue buying on hype.

the car was NOT worth $4k and insurance will NOT fix it.

i swear people go fucking stupid when they see a car is a Honda.

Yup, another person who thinks that they're Honda is God's gift to man. By the way OP, you still have almost 100,000 miles to go before you catch up to what my 94 LeBaron had on it when I traded it in. That shitty American car had just under 290,000 when I traded it in. Original transmission and engine. The only problem I had with it was that it started to leak oil somewhere on the firewall side of the engine.

Casiotech, do you really think you should be talking trash about anyone's driving? You can't even figure out the gas pedal from the brake pedal.

It's nice being old. Us old farts are capable of making friends and staying in contact with them with out using a computer or text messages.

Ohh I frickin HATE text messages.
That said, I do not consider myself to be old (28.) Old is at least 1 year older than me. Thus my at least 29 comment. (Sorry ElFenix, no disrespect meant, I respect my elders)
I can type around 100 wpm with my Das Keyboard in Dvorak Mode, the little keys on my phone, 3wpm at the best, and even then, when people send the messages, they are all cryptic and require some translation from jibberishspeak to semi-pathetic English.

I'm not a mechanice, but your airbag may not have deployed cause you weren't going fast enough to trip the sensors. Somewhere along the line, someone decided that low speed + bag = unnecessary risk. That or you didn't hit the bumper which is a lot more of a concern...

dude a 15 year old honda with 200k miles is shit plain and simple. If you don't consider that shit, I don't know what is. I'm sure we have different standards but I don't see WHY you would want to insure it beyond PIP. But since you crashed it, it was for the best that you have full coverage. Paying to repair it would be an epic fail.

If you get ANYWHERE NEAR 3 or 4k from insurance, take it and RUN.

keep us updated.

I agree. this is the lamest disaster being claimed a disaster that I've read/heard/seen.

Now, buddy of mine, back when we were 17 or so had a real disaster in his 2nd of what would be 4 or 5 wrecks (all totals--he was a horrible driver. He got better, though)

anyhoo, he was driving his car back home early Saturday morning. This was in March or late February? whenever the SATs are given; it's been too long for me, so I don't recall exact time of year. Point is, it was chilly, and there was ice on the road.

Buddy was driving along the two-lane street next to our highschool, skid on some ice, and planted his car into a telephone pole. This telephone pole also had a power transformer attached to it. Shortly thereafter, the power transformer was soon attached to the hood of my friend's car, soon to be followed by the rest of the telephone pole.

This power transformer not only fed power to our high school, but also to a nearby shopping center (rather large one, about 6 blocks-worth). Grocery stores lost their refrigeration and had to toss tons of meat, frozen goods, etc. Remember how I mentioned this was the SATs? Yeah, that's the important part, b/c they were being given at our high school at that moment. Lights go out, and everyone is told to go home and reschedule. There were kids from out-of-state taking them at our school that day. I bet they were pissed. Word quickly spread that some dumbass kid was responsible for them having to come back and take the SAT another day.

individual wrecks don't make the news too often. It is exceedingly rare, however, when one makes it to the local news in several surrounding states :D

This thread has made me realize five things:

1. The OP doesn't know English/grammar well.
2. The OP is a terrible driver.
3. The OP doesn't know anything about cars.
4. The OP needs to hand in has man card for being this attached to a 1993 Honda Accord.
5. Facepalm.

My grandfather gave me my first vehicle. It was a 1984 Chevy K10 with the 5.0L V8. It was a grand heap of shit. When I got it, it had rust in both rear quarters as well as the rear cab corners, a nasty hole in the exhaust system, flood damage, a dead power steering pump, and a failing carb.

I loved that thing but I certainly wasn't sad to get rid of it.

Yeah, I mean, where are the little kids that are scarred for life because of the OP?

And then you cried? God, get a pair already.

My first car was a $500 88 dodge K car in 00. I'd rather have it back than your pre-accident accord. that car could kill people and heal itself.

Wow, what about the engine? Wasn't it fractured? In the accident I posted above it would have cost over $8000 to fix. I am shocked that yours is so much cheaper.

Still wondering if the OP acknowledges that this accident was his fault. Numerous posts about asking if he was tailgating have been not been addressed by the OP. Typical of the youth of this country to not accept responsibility for their actions. It is always someone else's fault.

Don't lump Facebook and Myspace in the same category. I can't stand all the customizable background and font color shit on Myspace that throws the Internet back to 1995... not to mention the auto-play crap music people think is mcphatty. Facebook does everything much better, simpler, cleaner and allows you to keep in touch with your circle of friends, which is the whole point. One more thing about Myspace - fuck random adds from strangers - it's not supposed to be a popularity contest. Don't knock it till you try it.
