Got in a hit and run yesterday

Was stopped at a stop light, car behind me was stopped, a really nice SUV from a Japanese brand rams into the car behind me and they bumped into me. My car is fine but the car behind me wasn't, it's probably totaled. Drive in nice SUV then drove off during my 911 call. Paramedics came and the two persons behind me were fine, just whiplashes. Cops came, got our insurance and registration stuff and i took off.

Called KGO 810 today, they have a lawyer show that offers legal advice. He just told me to sue everyone involved since I'm not at fault

So here are the details:

The driver was a woman, 40-50 years old.

The car is a Lexus RX, brand new.

The two persons behind me are females, go to my university, and are roommates of a friend of mine.

The cop came by this evening and had me identify the photos. The lady claimed that she let other people drive her car. We all identified the same person. Will keep you all posted.

Sucks for you and the guy behind, especially the guy behind you.
I hate asshole drivers who are not responsible.

Did you get the license plate number at least, and a description of the driver? FPMITAP for them!

Glad no one was hurt.

They actually got whiplashes and was complaining about neck pain...

Whiplash sucks. I got pushed over into another lane on the interstate one time and got drilled from behind (haw haw). It was enough force to make the plastic molding around my CD player come off and hit my back window. I was ok at the time but the next day my neck was killing me.

Ever since I have had bad problems with my neck. I will get pains and they are so bad my eyeball hurts and it feels like I want to throw up.

Glad you got his info! The redneck fvcker who hit-and-run me did not have a lic. plate on his beatup camero.

Not really sure what you mean by that? If you'd been rear-ended by a 2.7 tonne Toyota LandCruiser i'm sure you'd be somewhat worse for wear in your shiny little american domestic saloon 😉

Oops, 2.7 tonne 😉

That was a pretty stupid move by the driver. He better hope he's got a way of concealing the evidence of the accident that's stuck on his vehicle.

Coincidentally, I was in an accident yesterday as well. But yours is more exciting.

Re: whiplash
I guess that's where "Active Head Restraints" come into play.
They call it an active head restraint. Developed together with Delphi, it moves the head rest forward to meet your head in the split second before your head snaps backward in a rear-end collision.

This is a deceptively great idea. Head rests, you see, generally aren't head rests at all. Not unless you're taking a nap in the car, which I hope to God you're not doing as it's moving. That is, your head never really makes contact with the head rest. It's there simply as a gesture against whiplash, and usually a fairly ineffective one. Until now. The new Saab head restraint made its debut on the 9-5's front seats as standard equipment, and is now standard on the 9-3 too.

And best of all, it doesn't involve any fancy, pricey electronics. It's plain old mechanics. A pressure plate is built into the back of the seat, connected by a lever to the head restraint. If your body is pushed violently into the back of the seat, the plate moves back, sending the headrest forward to "catch" your head before whiplash begins.

One major beauty of the active head restraints: no replacement costs, as with airbags. The head rest merely reverts to its original position once the pressure is off.

My gf's Civic has them and I think my GTO does as well (which would make sense if Saab developed this, as they cannibalized some Saab stuff for the GTO). Good to know, but I do wish I had side impact airbags 😱
