At the Holden vs Ford show this weekend (just gone), Eddy Tassones VZ Commodore ute made 1899rwhp, which is a new world record. The car has a 383 stroker V8 (based on the old Holden 5.0L block) with twin turbos, custom cam and manifold using 40psi and C16 fuel. Apparently they backed off before the redline because the engine was leaning out due to the fact it was not tuned properly (they only put the engine together the day before the event), so it only revved to 6500rpm, and the dyno graph indicates it will keep going. Summernats, here we come.

I think street legal needs to be put in quotes. I guarantee you this will never pass any california smog. Considering these are just glory runs its not that impressive. A Duttwiler built small block single turbo engine made 1600 hp six years ago and it could be considered a "street legal" engine.

At what RPM?
This can be taken easily over 2000HP if they are able to get the RPM's up.

Maybe Dug777 can answer this one.

In aus, there are no emissions inspections right? My choice if I were ever to leave America would be Austrilia, beautiful country, beautiful cars.

poorly tuned and 1899hp should not be (at least responsibily) in the same sentence.

well, on the bright side, if it was properly tuned, sky's the limit.
