Does anyone honestly give a shit about Chicago? If they, Detroit, Cleveland, and Oakland all fell off the face of the Earth, would anyone care?

Good luck finding any stations in the city under $4.... The average price for gasoline in Chicago is $3.96 per gallon, according to the Triple A.
For real, have you ever received an official diagnosis of being mentally delayed from a professional caregiver? If you're not lying you're just contradicting yourself with your own links.

Oil below $88 after surprise US supply jump

Oil drops below $88 in Europe after report shows US crude supplies jumped unexpectedly

Oil prices slipped below $88 a barrel on Wednesday after a report showed U.S. crude supplies unexpectedly jumped last week, a sign demand may be weakening.

The American Petroleum Institute said late Tuesday that crude inventories rose 5.1 million barrels last week while analysts surveyed by Platts, the energy information arm of McGraw-Hill Cos., had predicted a drop of 1.2 million barrels.

Found the reason for the huge jump in gas prices besides Labor Day.

They are evacuating Gulf rigs for storm that hasn't done anything yet.

Oil firms start U.S. Gulf evacuations due to weather

BP Plc on Wednesday became the first major oil producer to say it was evacuating some workers from Gulf of Mexico oil and gas platforms because of a tropical disturbance that could become a named storm this week.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center gives the disturbance, which would be called Lee if it becomes a tropical storm, a 60 percent chance of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours, but said it could develop further when it reaches the western Gulf.

I wish you could go man one of these rigs in storm conditions.

I've been in a tropical storm onboard a Navy Destroyer, it was hell and we were trying to get away from the storm. I can't imagine what it would be like on something that can't get out of the way.

Economy will be damned until this is fixed....

Our nation's economy will be damned with or without lower gas prices as long as we are exposed to Global Labor Arbitrage and as long as we continue down the path of government and societal irresponsibility consistent with free market dogma.

What we could use is a "Man on the Moon" type of project or a "Manhattan" type of project to develop very efficient affordable hybrids or electric vehicles.

I guess dmcowen has no understanding of the term preventative measures.

Err uhh, Chicago is a beautiful sprawling city with some financial mismanagement. Detroit, Cleveland, Oakland, Cinci, Dayton, etc. are shitholes.

Gas Prices Up In Chicago Again

Once again, you’re paying more to fill your tank.

Prices are still far from the peak last spring, but according to ChicagoGasPrices.com, the average cost of a gallon of unleaded in Chicago now is around $4.05.

The statewide average is around $3.88, compared with a national average of $3.66 reported by AAA.

The recent hikes are blamed on crude oil prices, and storms that have hampered coastal refineries.

With the impact of the latest severe weather from Tropical Storm Lee, prices could still go up before they’re expected to begin falling later this month.

The highest was at the Mobil station at Arlington Heights Road and Devon Avenue in Itasca, and the BP station at 755 W. Lawrence Ave. near Lake Shore Drive, where the price was $4.49.
-------------------------------------------
They missed a couple apparently not on the website but you get the idea, it is heading to $5 again in the city of Chicago.

Whats not amusing is that we pay more in gallons of gas per $ barrell of oil then just last year, it may be like a 10% difference

Just looked up september 2010/2011 oil prices and gas prices. Not terribly scientific but it feels more painful this year

They keep saying higher oil prices is to blame yet oil is in fact lower.

I guess just because they say it, it must be true and people like the oil supporters on here believe it.

Of course I know they are in the Industry and getting paid so they are doing their job.
