I'm sure it won't last but station near my work (just outside city of Chicago limits) dropped 11 cents last night to $3.89 for regular, it was $3.99 for quite a while.

With oil going up fast and Labor Day coming up I'm sure they will jack it back up by 20 cents or more within a few days.

One station dropped from $3.47 to $3.41 overnight. Another from $3.46 to $3.43. All others stayed the same.

Several stations dropped to $3.41 today. Two, at exit 104 on I75 raised from $3.43 to $3.59. Hmmmm? :hmm:

Most stations down to $3.39 here. Two raised back to $3.57/$3.58 this afternoon. Not sure if they will hold that level or not as nobody around them has raised to their level (yet).

That 3.77 station is down to 3.61 over the course of a couple days (3.77 -> 3.65 -> 3.61). I paid $2.85/gal yesterday thanks to Stop & Shop rewards points and a bit of smart couponing. That was nice.

I hope dave doesn't consider me one of the "oil industry thugs" and even I think he's whack on this. Gas is going down right now, seeing 3.50-3.60 everywhere. even saw a 3.47 today when i went for a walk.

Hopefully it's been proven so far that mass investments into Oil commodities is a losing strategy

I hope!

Oil under $80 by a dime at this moment.

Gas really does seem to be stubbornly sticking up, I've not looked at any charts but it seems more detached than normal from oil, I think it ought to have dropped more. It's down nationally $.11 from its peak.
