Got free plane tickets - Where should we fly?

So, I live right outside Chicago, and my dad had two United tickets that he can't use, so he is giving them to me. I have to book by the end of May and fly by Early June. I want to fly somewhere with my wife that is unique, and some place people wouldn't normally visit unless it was free.
I would look for something to meet this criteria:

1)In a "remote" location without other things to do near it. For instance, New York would not be a good choice because there are tons of things to do there and someone could spend a few weeks there. A smaller national park in the middle of nowhere would be a good choice, because you would only want to spend a few days there.

2)You normally would not go to this place because it would not be worth your time or money to visit this place alone.

3)Has to be semi-near an airport United flies too....

Any ideas?

I think the plane tickets have to be somewhere in the lower 48... and if I were to go to Alaska, I would want to go there for longer than a weekend :)

Seychelles ;)

If you want a bit of isolation, I'd recommend Death Valley (actually beautiful lately because of the rain in SoCal) or Yosemite (before the early summer season visitors arrive)

Japan or Hawaii. I've always wanted to go to Japan and Hawaii is one of the best places in the world. Maui is the best, Oahu sucks.

EDIT:

PS - Bring us back pics of your hot wife

hmmm well You could fly here to VA (into norfolk international) and spend a day at Historic Williamsburg and Jamestown, and then a day at Busch Gardens (amusemnt park -- good rollercoasters)

i dont know to many places outside VA that i would only want to go two for a couple of days though.

Williamsburg might be a fun place to go to... I've been there once a few years ago. I might wait til we have kids to go there though.

Fly to Phoenix and head up to Sedona/Flagstaff. It's an awesome place to hike and has a ton of very nice bed & breakfasts. It's a 2 hour drive to the Grand Canyon from there. Vegas is about 4 hours. There's also Bryce Canyon and Montezuma's Well. Very neat places. Rent a convertible and just cruise with the top down. Or get an SUV and hit the trails in Sedona/Flagg. Weather up there *sounds* a bit warm (will probably be mid 80's) but it's a hell of a lot more comfortable than the suffocating humidity we have in the midwest.

It's about 2 hours from Phoenix to Sedona.

Look into doing the four corners out west. Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona. There are tons of great national parks (Zion, Arches, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Bryce, etc.). Fly somewhere close, rent a car, and go see the area out there. It's beautiful. Camp a few nights at the parks or on the Grand Canyon rim.

Nashville, TN
Austin, TX
Charleston, SC

All 3 are small cities with hopping nightlives and an assortment of other activities worth doing.

e.g. Graceland...

Guess you don't realize that Graceland isn't in any of the cities you listed? Plus, it's a dump anyways. There's much better things to do than visit Nashville.

Nashville has a pretty good nightlife. Esp. on NCAA tourney weekends ;)

Just be careful of the "sites" down Printers Alley. You don't want a solicitation charge on your record!

I've been to Zion, Arches, GC, Monument Valley, Bryce, Mesa Verde, Canyonlands, and Devil's tower already :)
My wife hasn't been to those places yet... I am thinking that when we go to those places, we will be spending more than a weekend.

Fly into Nashville or Knoxville June 10th and attend the Bonarroo music festival.

Same for Cochella (or however it's spelled).

We thought about doing Cochella, but that weekend won't work for us.

We are not very fond of most of the bands at Bonaroo either.
