Got free cable. What is the cheapest way to watch it on my computer?

I recently moved to a new apartment where they provide free Internet and Cable. I am college student and don't intend to buy a TV as of now. I am a newb when it comes to this, so please excuse me for asking the obvious.

All I have is a coax cable hanging in my apartment. I was wondering if it is possible for me watch TV on my monitor for less than $100? Any help is appreciated.

If your signal is unencrypted analog feed (old NTSC standard - analog, non-widescreen, channels 0 - 69 only), you could also buy an used Slingbox Tuner and watch via Slingplayer app.

Hauppauge 950 (clear qAM edition) is very dated hardware, but it was supposed to have very good tuner chip in, especially if you get OTA HDTV in your area, too (http://www.tvfool.com)

There are lots of other options out there, many also under $100.

I use the silicondust HDhomerun for my antenna and it works great. I picked it up on ebay for around 50$ and it was money well spent IMO.
