Was still in training too. Partly my fault, but the rules weren't completely explained to me by HR. I woke up way late, and called in three hours after I was scheduled to come in. It was my ONLY and first time, so they supposedly had to let me go. I was only in the 2nd week of it too. Not sure how I'm going to explain this to my dad since he was happy about me getting the job. Hmm, need money.... Need beer.... must get beer.

Not even a warning, just "Hey, you've been terminated." fvckers.

edit: guessed I deserved it.

Well that's my story for today, and o yea, I do feel like punching those SOBs in the face for not telling me otherwise. Not even a warning, just "Hey, you've been terminated." fvckers.

I'm sorry to hear the news, and no offense, but what do you expect? Showing up 3 hours late without calling is a no-show in some employeers eyes (obviously yours as well).

Why were you late? You were probably still on probation (usually last 90 days) so no need to mess around and waste company time and money.

Is that what you were doing last night?

You might want to confine the drinking to nights when you aren't working the next day.

That sucks, but if that's what the regulations say, and if your boss is that much of a dick, you're probably better off anyway. I wouldn't want to work in a place like that.

3 hrs late within your first 2 weeks?

Tell ya the truth, I'd fire you too. If you can't at least make a good impression for the first 3 months, I can't imagine what you'd be like after 3 years.

Treat it as a learning experience. You've learned that the real world sucks.

If you lost your job and beer is your priority...you deserved it!

Can't go through life being late for work.

Sometimes you have to know the value of an opportunity. In this tight job market, I would have had 2 alarm clocks to wake me up. One of them battery powered or on a UPS. Your mistake just cost you a lot of money. But hey, at least you learned it early in life.

You are a mother fvcking tool. The rules weren't completely explained to me. Woke up and called in 3 hours late? I'm sorry, what part of the employee handbook do you need highlighted and blown up to know that coming in late is bad? No, not 15 minutes - 3 hours. I suppose that's a common everyday occurance. I mean sheesh, if you were 6 hours late in calling in, then yea, they were justified in firing you. But nooooooooooooo, 3 hours - I mean, dear god, the humanity!

If anyone should be punched in the face it should be you, by your dad, for being such a dumbass.

I would have fired you too.

I don't think an employee should be required to explain to you that you're supposed to actually show up for a job.

I can't believe how many assholes are in this thread.

Sleeping in can happen to anyone. But yeah, this crowd is made up of non-humans

LMAO "It was partly my fault that I was 3 hours late." It's not that hard to wake up on time, I've been working at my current place of employment for 1.5 years and the most I've been late is 15 minutes

You would have been fired for being 3 hours late almost ANYWHERE.

I would have to have a good excuse to not have fired you. A simple "I was late" and you'd be fired. Now, if your wife or child had to go to the hospital, you had to call the fire department cause your obviously failing alarm clock started on fire and burned up half your house....Something of that nature? I wouldnt have fired you.
Otherwise....Bye.
