Got deals on two video cards... which one do I keep?

I had a pretty good Black Friday. Got in on the Fry's ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 128 DDR for 70 after rebate, and got Best Buy's Asylum GeForce4 Ti4200 128 DDR for 90 after rebate. The 20 bucks isn't that big a deal to me. I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff, I've just been trying to accumulate the "best stuff for the money" for a computer that my brother is going to build for me.

Thanks for any input.

I *think* the 4200 is slightly faster.

They should both be reviewed on the main anandtech site.

geforce, because i've heard bad things about the 9000's. but dont listen to me, i've not seen anything better than a 650 mhx p3, geforce 1. 🙂

the Ti4200 card beats the pants off the R9000 Pro 128 MB, so if I were you, I'd keep the Asylum card 🙂

To sum up the above.

ATI has better image quality and dvd playback. Better all round card.

The 4200 should be faster in 3d gaming.

Your choice but check some reviews out. I have mostly ATI and very happy with them other than the difficult drivers and programs from ATI that are getting better.
