Got caught with a torrent by my University ISP

I plead ignorance. I said i had no idea that I was downloading copyrighted material. This was back in 2000 so the awareness was much lesser then. Usually the university authorities try to prevent you from repeating rather than press charges. So you are a lot luckier to have to deal with a RA than RIAA !

Lay off him you puritans! Pak I wish I could tell you exactly what to say so I could get you off the hook . My advice would be to move off campus next year, college kids = easy targets on campus.

Oh and you could do what my friend does, use MIRC to DL the games, he claims it's more secure.

Don't listen to anyone trying to guilt trip you. It's just university protocol to keep the RIAA and MPAA off their backs.

Heres an excerpt from one I got last year:

response, which may be sent electronically, you must

suspension of your network access (that is, your network jack will be turned
off). If your access is disabled, you will need to visit the ResNet office
to sign an official letter of warning before your service will be restored.

In english, all she wanted was an email, which I sent and got a thank you response. Funny enough, I got another one 2 months later from the same person and it didn't even mention the first instance. She just wanted another email.

Then, somehow, on the same day, the ENTIRE campus started using them.....I still cna't believe that they brought the OC12 to its knees

hehe back in the day morpheus and kazaa were the same program, you actually couldent run them both at the same time

Cute MX and Scour were bot better, like napster but it had videos, i remember when it exploded as well, however when i brought the network down itwas just me, apperenlyi was useing 82% of the schools total available bandwidth myself
