I got caught speeding once, cried and the cop wrote me up telling me to go to court to fight it, but whatever I do... do not pay the freaking ticket.

So off to court I went and then I got scared and plead 'not guilty.' It was my first offense ever with a 5 year driving record and the judge stuck me with my 2 points and $140 fine for being 24 miles over the limit. The guy before me was going 105 in a 60 zone and only got away with 3 points. His excuse was that he was overly excited on new year's eve.

ANyways, lesson learned.

This is how you do not handle a speeding ticket :cookie:

Insurance companies don't care about points, they only care about what the offense was. Some states everything is only 1 point.

PA rocks :D

seriously, I feel bad for myself if I don't go through PA driving 90mph+

I make sure I get to 90 at least twice a day (once each way on the commute).

The irony of this whole situation was that the only reason I was on this road was to get on another road where I was going to triple the posted speedlimit. If he had only caught up to me in 2 minutes, he'd have been able to lock me up

i got pulled over in town the other day, but i was going about 8-10 over the speed limit so i was sure that's what he was getting me for. nope, he walked up to my car and said "i pulled you over because you weren't wearing a seat belt" I said "that's ridiculous, i always put on my seat belt as soon as i get in my car, it's a reflex." he looked at me for a sec and goes "... you sure?" and i said "yes i'm sure." and he let me go.

Wow, we need restricted radar use all over the country. These cops are out of control! :p

I just got pulled over tonight too. (Renton WA)
I have a brake light out on the side, which is a writable ticket, and my top light was out too! :(
But I noticed when he got behind me and he followed for quite a ways. I didn't feel I was speeding, but when I was finally about 50 feet from my house, he finally turned on his lights.
He said he paced me at 10+ at different areas. (Followed me for about 2 miles.) It probably was true, my little RAV4 has slightly larger tires, which causes my speedo to register low, and I was driving at the limit or 5+ mph higher, so he was right...
So he checked my record out, (it's super clean) told me to fix the lights and SLOW DOWN! I also didn't have my insurance card with me for some odd reason, but he let that go too. (That's a $500+ fine!!)
Got off with a Warning! Wheew!

I think you're lucky you didn't get beaten, bitten, pepper-sprayed and shot. Them law & order boys is tough.

I've been pulled over for less. Although it doesn't really count since it was a friend of mine messing with me. :D I've been somehwat lucky, pulled over five times in seven years. Ticketed three times when I should have been ticketed every time and didn't get a wreckless driving citation when I should have. I know that doesn't really sound lucky, but for how damn stupid I was, I consider it decent.

I know what you mean; I haven't gotten into any wrecks either, but where's MY citation?:|
